According to the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia, it is anticipated that Malaysia would declare Thursday, March 23, 2023 as the first day of Ramadan 2023. (JAKIM.)

According to a study published in a daily newspaper published in India that uses English as its primary language, the Hindustan Times, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Pakistan, South Africa, and Indonesia will most likely see the Ramadan moon on the evening of March 22.

“The first day of Ramadan fasting for them will be March 23,” the news outlet said, emphasizing that if the crescent moon was not sighted, the first day of Ramadan would begin on March 24 in India and other South Asian countries. “The first day of Ramadan fasting for them will be March 23,” the news outlet said.
