School in Cilegon Banten gives students’ report cards via drive-thru

A school in Taman Cilegon Indah, Jombang District, Cilegon City, Banten on Thursday, June 18 carried out a drive-thru report card distribution by applying health protocols. Student parents do not need to get out of the car to take their children’s report cards.

The school is Mutiara Bunda School that implementing to give students’ report cards via drive-thru. This was done because it considered the safety of parents and students during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Chairperson of the Samawat School Foundation for the Mutiara Bunda Cilegon School Agus Sutanto said that this activity was carried out according to the government’s recommendations during the pandemic to reduce social distancing meetings.

“This is our latest breakthrough in the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic. In the midst of this condition, we are also distributing Drive-Thru report cards to 200 students ranging from kindergarten, elementary to junior high. The distribution of the drive-thru report cards begin for 2 days (Thursday and Friday) at 08.00 until 11.00 West Indonesia Time, “Agus said to the media on Thursday, June 18.

One by one the parents arrived using their vehicles. From home, they had prepared a paper with the name of their child along with their class.

“The distribution of report cards so that we do anti-mainstream way is by doing via drive-thru. Technically, that parents come, on behalf of whom student and in which class, for example, elementary school A is directed to the gate of the elementary school, as well as kindergarten and junior high,” said Agus.

Teachers who distribute report cards are also equipped with face shields and gloves to avoid touching each other directly. With the drive-thru method, the interactions that occur are very minimalist.

Agus explained all facilities and infrastructure in the implementation had been prepared carefully. This starts from the arrival of parents who bring vehicles directed to checkpoint 1 to meet with teachers who have been guarding in front of the school to take report cards.

For parents of students who have not had time to take a report card, he said, the school plans to deliver it to the student’s home.

“Of course, the students’ parents give their information first, as they cannot get the report card on time. After that, we bring the report card directly to their house,” said Agus.

Mutiara Bunda Cilegon School, in addition to distributing report cards, has also distributed online graduations on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

“Graduation of our students also has greeted given by the Mayor of Cilegon, Edi Ariadi which conducted online,” Agus said.
