KUALA LUMPUR –  Umno’s Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said some of UMNO’s member (including himself) are uncomfortable over Muhyiddin’s appointment of Azmin as his right hand and senior minister.

“That is not so good. We’re not comfortable looking at it.” He added.

Tajuddin said Azmin’s appointment is a way for Bersatu to strengthen itself to the disadvantage of UMNO. They also felt that this is a continuation of Bersatu’s agenda.

“We want to help the country and serve it. That’s why we want to be in government. We dont  want our political party to lose out.”

The Umno supreme council member also felt that the party should ask the newly appointed PM for a cabinet reshuffle and leave the party’s top leader to decide.

Datuk Seri Azalina Othman, on the other hand, made it clear that  they don’t want a government run by Pakatan Harapan and UMNO will not stop being the eyes and ears of the Rakyat, criticizing the government if there’s a need for it. Umno, which has 35 percent of the lawmakers, has only one senior minister.
