Former DIA member Somyi is returning to the hallowed halls of K-Pop following legal troubles and a bitter stint in prison. On 26 April 2025, Moden Berry Korea (MBK), her new agency, officially announced her return as “a new artist” through their various social media platforms alongside her new profile pictures.

MBK’s confidence in Somyi was manifested in the statement she is “an artist gaining attention for their steady growth and unique presence”. Presently, she will consider opportunities like being a major contributor to a new boy band, provisionally titled “Earth Boys“. Somyi will partake in every facet of the group’s debut in music and performance production along with concept planning and visual directing. The anticipated debut of the group is fixed to 2028.

This incident ended legal battles by Somyi in January 2023 when she accused the CEO of her previous agency of sexual molestation. From the other surveillance footage, her claim was proven false; hence, Somyi was found guilty of making shameful allegations. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison in February 2024 and even after an appeal, her sentence was suspended in June 2024, probation with 160 hours of community service.

Somyi changed from being an idol to becoming a live streamer, posting adult content just before legal trouble. Her last stream was on January 31, 2023. With MBK, Somyi aims to revive her career in the entertainment industry behind the camera, open doors for using her experience, and bear the ramifications of opportunities that her creativity can unleash.
