App for virtual currency On Thursday, February 16, GCash made the announcement on Facebook that it has expanded its services to be available in more countries. Users in Japan, Australia, and Italy who have GCash Abroad accounts may pay bills, purchase items, and send and receive money to and from any GCash account. GCash Abroad also enables users to send and receive money to and from any GCash account.

Users from outside the Philippines are needed to provide a Filipino passport or “any valid PH ID” in order to validate their account. The rollout that is taking place right now is in the beta stage, and for the time being, it will only be accessible to a select group of individuals. On its Facebook page, GCash extends an invitation to its members to “be one of the first thousand Filipinos to experience it abroad.”

Martha Sazon, President and Chief Executive Officer of GCash, stated in a post on Facebook that the foreign service would also be rolling out in the United States the next week, and that support for more areas is planned for the “near future.” Users will be able to register for GCash Abroad using their existing phone numbers anywhere in the world thanks to this feature.

Before the launch of GCash Abroad, individuals who possessed a SIM card from a country other than the Philippines were only able to send cash to a GCash account by way of an international remittance partner. This could be a digital partner like AliPayHK, or it could be a physical store like Western Union or Moneygram. It is also possible to link a Payoneer account to a GCash account. Payoneer is a money transfer service. GCash Abroad intends to make overseas money transfers carried out via the app more comparable to those carried out within the United States.

Sazon said that this was “really a great joint effort from our team” for the Filipino migrant workers and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) all over the world.
