
On Feb 12, 2025, it has been officially announced that the epic fantasy novel series “Twelve Kingdoms – Shadow of the Moon, Shadow of the Sea” will be adapted to musical performance and will be presented to the audience at Nissay Theatre this December 2025. The story is about the two protagonists, one who lives on this earth and the other in another world. Both are thrown away due to fate and what happens next is the hook of the story line.
The author of this magnum opus Fuyumi Ono has expressed his gratitude and happiness post this wonderful announcement,
“I was very surprised at first. I remember being very confused when I heard that it would be a musical. I didn’t think it was a story that was suitable for the stage at all, but I was able to ease my concerns by spending a long time communicating the production team”
This epic novel has sold over 13 million copies in total and this shows the profound writing which succeeds in capturing the audiences ideally.
