Naver, the most popular search engine in South Korea, has revealed the list of the 10 most searched K-pop idols in 2023. The list is based on the number of searches made by Naver users from January 1 to December 1, 2023. Here are the 10 K-pop idols who dominated the online searches this year:
Jisoo, the lead vocalist and visual of BLACKPINK, ranked 10th on the list with 12.3 million searches. Jisoo made her acting debut in the drama Snowdrop, which aired from March to May 2023. She also became the global ambassador of Dior, appearing in various campaigns and events for the luxury brand.
Jimin, the main dancer and lead vocalist of BTS, ranked 9th on the list with 13.7 million searches. Jimin captivated the fans with his smooth vocals and charismatic performances in BTS’s songs, such as Butter, Permission to Dance, and My Universe. He also participated in several solo projects, such as collaborating with Lauv on the song Stay With Me and featuring on the soundtrack of the movie Soulmates.
Jennie, the main rapper and lead vocalist of BLACKPINK, ranked 8th on the list with 14.2 million searches. Jennie continued to show her versatility and charm in BLACKPINK’s songs, such as Lovesick Girls, How You Like That, and Pretty Savage. She also launched her own fashion brand, JENNIERATION, which became a hit among the fans and celebrities.
Lisa, the main dancer and lead rapper of BLACKPINK, ranked 7th on the list with 15.4 million searches. Lisa amazed the fans with her powerful and graceful dancing skills in BLACKPINK’s songs, such as Ice Cream, Bet You Wanna, and Crazy Over You. She also released her first solo album, LALISA, which broke several records and topped the charts worldwide.
Jungkook, the main vocalist and center of BTS, ranked 6th on the list with 16.8 million searches. Jungkook impressed the fans with his sweet and soulful vocals and stunning visuals in BTS’s songs, such as Dynamite, Life Goes On, and Film Out. He also released his first solo song, Euphoria, which became a global sensation and earned him the nickname “King of Pop”.
Rosé, the main vocalist and lead dancer of BLACKPINK, ranked 5th on the list with 18.1 million searches. Rosé showcased her unique and angelic voice and elegant style in BLACKPINK’s songs, such as You Never Know, Love To Hate Me, and Gone. She also made her solo debut with the album R, which featured the hit songs On The Ground and Gone.
V, the lead dancer and sub vocalist of BTS, ranked 4th on the list with 19.5 million searches. V charmed the fans with his deep and husky voice and handsome appearance in BTS’s songs, such as Blue & Grey, Telepathy, and Stay. He also released his second solo song, Winter Bear, which became a viral hit and earned him the nickname “King of Winter”.
IU, the solo singer and actress, ranked 3rd on the list with 21.2 million searches. IU enchanted the fans with her beautiful and expressive voice and acting skills in her songs and dramas, such as Celebrity, Lilac, and Hotel Del Luna. She also won several awards and accolades, such as the Daesang at the Melon Music Awards and the Best Actress at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
RM, the leader and main rapper of BTS, ranked 2nd on the list with 23.7 million searches. RM inspired the fans with his rap skills and leadership in BTS’s songs, such as ON, Black Swan, and Dis-ease. He also delivered several speeches and messages, such as at the UN General Assembly and the Grammy Awards, that touched the hearts of millions.
Jin, the oldest member and sub vocalist of BTS, ranked 1st on the list with 25.4 million searches. Jin wowed the fans with his vocal range and visual appeal in BTS’s songs, such as Moon, Epiphany, and Abyss. He also celebrated his 30th birthday in a grand way, donating 300 million won to the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation and receiving a special gift from NASA.
