UAEUAE – UAE passports are in the strongest position for the first time since December 2018, when the country marked the “Year of Zayed”. It maintained its top position in 2019 but slipped to 14th place in 2020. However, the passport returned to its success in 2021, emerging the strongest globally.

The Global Passport Index released by Arton Capital ranks first globally for achieving the highest mobility score, with passports allowing entry into 152 countries. A total of 98 countries offer visa -free entry, 54 countries offer visas upon arrival and 46 countries require a visa before entering the country.

The UAE earlier this year approved amendments to the citizenship law, which allows investors, professionals, special talents and their families to acquire Emirati citizenship and passports under certain circumstances. UAE citizenship offers a variety of benefits, including the right to establish or own commercial entities and property.

The position was changed after visa-free arrangements became null and void between countries following the outbreak of the Covid-19 outbreak.

To address this epidemic, many countries have imposed travel restrictions to other countries where daily Covid-19 cases are high.
