On Thursday, August 25, the streaming provider Netflix made the announcement that its original series The Umbrella Academy would be returning for a fourth and final season.
On the show’s Facebook page, the following message was posted: “Family gathering, Brellies: We’re going on a fourth and final adventure.” Additional information, like the air date and total number of episodes, has not yet been made public.
The Hargreeves’ lives took an unbelievable and unexpected turn during the third season of The Umbrella Academy, which contained an astonishing twist in the plot. Fans were able to see the presentation of the savvy and fashionable students that attend Sparrow Academy. The transformation of Vanya into Viktor was also shown to us, which was modeled after the transformation that actor Elliot Page had in real life. Steve Blackman, the creator of the series and an executive producer on it, has promised a dramatic conclusion for the lovable siblings.
“I’m so excited that the tremendously faithful fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to see the perfect finale to the trip that we began with the Hargreeves siblings five years ago. It’s been an incredible five years. But before we get to that climax, we’ve got an amazing tale planned for season four, one that will keep fans on the edge of their seats until the very final minutes,” teased Blackman. “We’ve got an amazing story coming for season four.”
The actors who played the Hargreeves will also return for the next season. These actors include Elliot Page (Viktor Hargreeves), Tom Hopper (Luther Hargreeves), David Castaeda (Diego Hargreeves), Emmy Raver-Lamphan (Allison Hargreeves), Robert Sheehan (Klaus Hargreeves), and Aidan Gallagher (Five Hargreeves). In addition to new cast members who have not yet been disclosed, more cast members like Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore will be present on site.

Blackman and Jesse McKeown, the show’s creators and showrunners, will be in charge of the next fourth season. The executive producers are going to be Mike Richardson, Beau Bauman, Keith Goldberg, and Scott Stuber. The roles of co-executive producers will be filled by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.
The comic book series on which The Umbrella Academy is based was written by Gerard Way, vocalist for the band My Chemical Romance, and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. The narrative recounts the lives of seven distinct children who were all given a home by the industrialist and millionaire Reginald Hargreeves. Afterwards, the billionaire established The Umbrella Academy, which trained these seven children to carry out their mission of rescuing the world. In subsequent years, after their adopted father passed away under unexplained circumstances, the seven were compelled to get back together in order to discover the mystery and stop the impending threat of a global apocalypse.

In 2019, Netflix released the first episode of the live-action version of the comic. The first episode of its second season debuted in July 2020, and the first episode of its third season debuted in June 2022.
