Jennie, a famous South Korean singer and rapper, is in the spotlight over her first solo comeback. American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), an American not-for-profit performance-rights organization, has licensed Blackpink’s Jennie’s unreleased song “You and Me”, previously performed during BLACKPINK‘s ongoing world tour of ‘Born Pink’.
After the licensing of Jennie’s “You and Me” with the ASCAP, rumours emerged that she may make her solo comeback, her first since the release of “SOLO” during Blackpink Arena Tour “Special Final In Kyocera Dome Osaka” in 2018.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s speculated contract renewal with YG Entertainment is due. However, fans assume that the decision will not be taken before BLACKPINK’s ‘BORN PINK’ world tour. Members are expected to make the final decision by the end of this month.
Recently, rumors also emerged that Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé were looking for opportunities with overseas entertainment agencies. According to reports, they can also set up their own personal agencies. Fans have already started anticipating Jennie’s solo comeback.
BLACKPINK was formed by YG Entertainment in 2016, with members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. Their first album was Square One. On August 8, 2023, BLACKPINK celebrated the 7th anniversary of their debut.
