K-pop being a big deal for SEVENTEEN, they’re set forth in some serious celebration to mark a 10-year-long feat. This boy band officially debuted on May 26, 2015, and has since traveled around the world sharing their heart-melting performances while being hands-on with their music.
Unlike most idol groups, SEVENTEEN is known for being self-producing artists. This means they not only perform but participate in songwriting, choreographing dance routines, and planning their shows.
New Album: ‘Happy Burstday’:
On May 26, 2025-exactly ten years after their launch-SVT would drop their 5th album, Happy Burstday, to celebrate 10 years of music and memories. This was announced on the group’s official Instagram page with a caption saying:

Military Service Awaits:
While they celebrate, they prepare to plunge into another big life transition-military service. Wonwoo signed his papers for enlistment recently, following Jeonghan’s run a little earlier. Regardless, the group continues to stay active and creative, making the most of every moment.
Who Is SEVENTEEN?
They were formed in the year 2015 under Pledis Entertainment, with a membership of 13: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino.
Belonging to the K-Pop industry, the name itself must have created some confusion:
13 members + 3 units + 1 team= 17.
From “17 Carat,” an EP that rocked the US charts to record-wrecking albums like FML and Seventeenth Heaven, the group has perpetually been trawling barriers of K-pop. Their EP FML even got them their very first MAMA Album of the Year award.
The group is divided into three units:
- Hip-hop unit
- Vocal unit
- Performance unit
Each unit emphasizes different aspects of their music, which diversifies and strengthens everything they do together.
